Proof of Concept with PITTAN

August 31, 2024

The Kyoto Meditation Center partnered with PITTAN, a Japanese startup focused on sweat amino acid analysis technology, to conduct a demonstration experiment.

The research initiative examined the physiological impacts of both traditional Zazen and Instant Clarity — our 5-minute contemplative practice designed for everyday use. Rather than employing invasive measurement techniques, the researchers utilized sweat analysis: a method that is both non-invasive and readily accessible.

This distinctive methodology aims to provide scientific verification of the advantages associated with the practice through a modern technological lens — bridging the thousand-year tradition of Japanese meditation with the precision of contemporary measurement science.
